I wish they made a Sahara Bar for the D3.
This is a current version of the Bar - would look great on my Disco

yes - I'd probably do a Sahara bar if there was one available.

Travelling in bush or away from the cities, skippies have a tendancy to strike off centre. How much for a light replacement (even a small one can cause $$$$ in damage) especially if you have xexons. For those reasons I prefer some protection around the lights.06 TDV6 SE with many LR and after-market extras. Used only on weekends and trips out west.

A couple of years ago, a Hilux ran into me and amongst other things, just cracked one headlight case. Cost for the part was A$2,100 (luckily on his insurance). They're worth protecting by a full bar IMHO.Jim Dowell - D4 HSE TDi, 12,000 hydraulic winch & hidden winch mount, MTRs, TyreDog, Traxide 2 x aux battery system, fixed air compressor, Dolium roof rack, MitchHitch.

Agreed a full bar is the best, tiny amount of extra weight compared to not full. Skippies will strike anywhere in my experience not just the side. Had them on all parts of the bar and the doors, come to that. Really hate the door strikes, you just hear them and feel it, not see it. Worst part is when they're not quite finished off. One of the things I hate about outback travelling. Fortunately never had one of the jump on the bonnet, but I've seen a car after it happened.--

Thanks Neil , I will be needing more info. I know the round plastic clips that holds the sensor is made to clip into plastic so I'm not sure how to overcome this if a problem at all. I have also heard rumours that there is interference to the sensors when fitting the ARB and winch but I suppose it's all about the "allignment" of the sensors. Any more input will be appreciated.

The sensors actually slot into a plastic surround the gives the sensor it's direction. If yoy you use these you will need to install them to point correctly.
The Kaymar rear bar uses steel tabs behind the holes in the bumper to hold th sensors.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Simon sorry for hijacking your thread, but noticed you run Mickey Thompson ATZ. I am thinking of fitting either 4 or 5 rib 265/70/17 on my spare set of rims for general use.
Just wondering if you have the 4 or 5 rib, and how noisy are they. Would you recommend them as an everyday tyre.
Thanks.
