That going to go down well with SWMBO come October £81 per month - better off adding it to the HP and buying another newer one.

As I said earlier up in post I paid £560 for another year from LR dealer incl. LR assist and MOT warranty.

The £810 isn't fixed the same as no price is ever 'fixed' Thumbs Up

That was £560 for 'Select' 1 year or 25,000 miles, incl MOT claims and incl LR assist on a D3.

Just used it yesterday to have EGR values replaced which save circa. £350.

Ahhh, I was a fiver out (age related memory problems), but I definitely didn't ask for Assistance to be included.. Many thanks for that.. I used to think I had a bad memory, but I can't remember what I thought that long ago..

Extended Warranty comprimised if ECU has been chipped!! Watch out, they now have a way of telling if its been chipped.....they take it for a test drive and determine whether the car should go on 'warranty alert'.....

Hi there,

Yes I had the Extended warranty last year, by far and away the best toilet paper I have ever had.

Came in a shiny binder that was very useful for wedging doors open and the paper it was written was sooo useful for the downstairs loo, and very absorbant.

Bit pricey tho so sticking to Andrex.

And Tesco's

Big Dave, do you mean you didn't need to use it, or that it was a waste of money as it didn't cover a fault...??

Many apologies EdF,

I meant they tried to wriggle out of almost anything and based their decisions on wear and tear!!

EPB and ball joints were the main problem.

They grudgingly agreed to repair the seized tailgate however.

TOTAL RIP OFF in my opinion.

Gone for Tesco's this year at half the price - £339.00. MAinly on the recommendation from the lads on here.

Hope this helps. Thumbs Up

I agree with big dave, when i purchased my car privately in March I took over the LR Select warranty. Totally useless, worst thing is being treated like a bit of dirt when calling them or dealing with local stealer (granted that They didnt sell the warranty)

Didnt (or wont) cover the following

Rotary coupler
Faulty Seat Belt Pre tensioner
Coolant bottle sensor (needed new Bottle)
ARB Bushes
Cracked sun roof rails
Wheel Bearing
Split Turbo/InterCooler Hose
Bottom part of Steering rack linkage
External oil leaks not covered.

Before you buy the warranty read the warranty booklet, pages 8-10, They will only cover the items listed, if it is not on the list you are not covered.

I am suprised that they have covered EGR valves....

We have to be carefull we compare apples with apples, I am talking about the LR Select Extended Warranty.

I will NOT be extensing, especially that LRA will be delivered by the AA.

I can't say too much against the LR warranty as my car has had a hatful of work carried out under the warranty this first year of ownership. However they have used a few excuses to get out of doing some work. Are Tesco's any better? I guess we ought to start reporting warranty work undertaken and refused by both parties to see which is the best value and also to justify others claims when one person is refused work which has been accepted previously. I'm up for that Thumbs Up

Anyone have any ideas as the best way to go about this Question Question

Trev.

By the way LRA told me with any of the extended warranties (i.e vehicle older than 3 years old) you do not get a like for like replacement, its what AVIS have availiable (prob a mondeo type vehicle)

I accept that all extended warranties are insurance products, so have to have defined cover, but what i object to is being made to feel like a piece of dirt when you call them.

It is worth noting that the LR extended warranty is not adminstered by LR, and it is the same company running the tesco warranty.
