Windscreen Washer Disconnect |
|
My windshield washer on the driver's side quit working, checked the jets but not clogged. Pulled the hood sound insulation to reveal that the rubber elbow shaped hose connected to the washer jet unit had disconnected - I was clued in by the fact that there was water running down the inside of the hood! Reconnected the hose tried the washers and the passenger side stopped working! Same problem. Right then, time for a fix. I secured all hose ends with cable ties did an exended test and nothing came loose.
A very odd problem but I think I've fixed them. I did change the type of fluid I'm using but otherwise wouldn't have figured that there'd be enough pressure in the line to create a disconnect - unless there was a blockage of some kind that blew thru eventually. 2006 LR3 SE-7 Zermatt Silver

Didn't think of that - certainly a permanent solution! If my cable/hose clamps fail I'll try that one.
Thanks. 2006 LR3 SE-7 Zermatt Silver
