I don't know if this has been posted before but I picked this up on another forum earlier...

I remember TFC showing me a similar picture, when he put my TorqTune on, of his car in Morocco, he told me that his didn't go to far over because of the weight (of beer ) in the back I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

I've seen this on the Spanish Toyota forum. They were dissing the Discovery big time!
This appears to be on an event in Lybia organised by Amada Adventure and Technic Auto. Those Frenchies certainly know how to put the D3 through its paces
Personally I would have jumped out of the car. Top marks for the old boy still behind the wheel.
Maybe he shat himself and was too embarrassed to get out

Yeah the French all use the coil-sprung version for true off-roading. That's the way I'll have to go if I ever want to join my Toyota friends in Mauritania or Mali The air suspension's great but I would never trust it that far away from home or from a LR dealer.

When my suspension failed in Southern Morocco, I called Spanish LR assist when in Morocco just for a laugh...they told me that I was not covered and couldn't even give me numbers for the LR dealers in Morocco. I made a call to home and my Dad googled them. I called them and they were unbelievably rude. The dealer in Marrakech didn't have a ROVACOMS and the dealer in Casablanca couldn't look at the car for over a week. I explained that it was an emergency - but no joy. (I speak french BTW).
On another trip we were in Agadir and we went to a Toyota dealer to buy a replacement bush for one of the HDJ100 in our group. THey had one in stock, dropped everything and fitted it within minutes.
What car would I prefer in Africa??? Hmmmmm....

Surely they'd have to disable the airbags or they'd be going off every 5 minutes in that terrain?Andrew
