I believe there a known quality issue with the adhesive which keeps these strips on the paint - hence they have been "temporarily withdrawn from sale"....draw your own conclusions but based on that I'd say you've got a case!
If the dealer says " sorry not covered under warranty"..say "OK then I will just buy some new ones off you..." - when he says "er...sorry we can't supply at the moment " you say" why's that then!" DUH!

Is it worth the hassle of an argument. Ken recommended the No Nails adhesive tape in the past, and to be honest he would know , anyhow, I used the tape and it definately will never budge again, for the pricely sum of £2.99 delivered Ebay

I've recently heard that it's only the FFRR side strips which are a known problem The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

Nope - the D3 ones - been trying to buy some for quite a while and TLO told me why I could'nt! (he is going to let me know when LR resolve the problem)
Had mine replaced by the dealer as they fitted them when I ordered the car under warranty. Although that was last march still think they are trying it on worth getting a proper answer other than the first one out of the book of excuses. Good luck keep us posted

What has happened with mine is that the self adhesive doulble sided tape fails at the front of the strip then as you drive the wind bends the strip which has an aluminium reinforcement in side it this then is difficult to rebend and flatten, I have used body shop tape and the same happens again, I think is due to not being able to flatten the aluminium stip despite leaving it in the warm etc and trying bend it, I wonder if Landrover are not allowing the claim as they have not got any money, so a fob off.
I would be happy if they said here`s some tape have a go your self.
The phone cradle broke also and they said get stuffed, I have not finished with them yet.
Yesterday had the rear boot fixed and a software upgrade what ever that is

What he said. ANYTHING fitted by LR or the dealer is covered by the three year warranty if its a official LR accessory. Most will warrant fitting on third party accessories for 1 year also.

Spoke to Colliers Erdington spares today they said the side mouldings are on restricted order what does that meen I ask only avalible to dealers who carry out warrentee work, I said that Colliers said not covered, they said if under 3 years warrentee then covered talk to dealer. So will ring on monday, and I will ring landrover direct.
Dealer fit options, which include the side moldings are only covered by a 1 year warranty.

I am FINALLY going to fit my nice new rubbing strips and have got loads of 'No More Nails' tape.
Question is, from those who have done it successfully...........
did you use the extra tape OVER the original tape or AS WELL AS the original tape
does the tape thickness cause the strips to sit slightly proud of the bodywork with a gap behind to collect muck & crap
