no extra tape
cleaned the door panels very very thoroughly
signficantly warmed both door panels and strips before application
withstood two and a half years of abuse with no issue

I took the original tape off, which was a challenge as although it didn't want to hold the rubbing strips it was stuck like er, glue, to the bodywork. And no, the strips do not sit proud with the NMN tape.No longer a D3 owner but still subscribed to multiple threads!

thanks gents,
I think I'll go with the Nobby's replacement 'NMN' tape & try and get the original tape off.
Then wash , dry & 'sterilise' the door panels with the cleaning swabs provided in the kit and get, err, stuck into it.
Need to pinch MrsFrenchy's posh hair dryer and try not to break it
How long do you think to leave it before driving
Will cool overnight temperatures impair the 'stick-ivity'
SN - LOOKS COOL - how long did you leave it before you had to wash of the mud - or does it still look like that

Mine are peeling, am going to try the no nails tape. Anyone have suggestions for removing the rubbing strips? Heat them up like during the installation?

Dealer fit options, which include the side moldings are only covered by a 1 year warranty.
I belive this to be incorrect as i have some paperwork somewhere that states all dealer fit stuff is under the three year warranty. That is as fitted as new, i don't recall seeing anything to sugest what the score is if dealer fitted later.

I had mine fitted from new by J V Like they peeled of at the ends. When in Courchevel last year -17deg my nephew opened the drivers rear door thought it was frozen so gave it a BIG push and this happened. Took it back to the dealer and the workshop manager to me it was not covered.
If they have started to peel at the ends take them off.
