Lights are about £180 istr new. Wiring I'm fussing is using the STD of wiring harness that comes with the lr spots. I'm going to use a relay with an on off on switch and the one with man beam will be joined to the STD main beam power wire. That way I can have them on their own on or with main beam on or just off. Used the standard LR switched setup. The Lightforces are a direct replacement for my old water filled Land Rover driving lamps. I cut the connectors from the Land Rover lamps, and grafted them onto the Lightforces.

is there a way of getting the complete original wiring kit for D3 without the lights?
HJ - you don't need the LR wiring loom. You can make your own or use one from Lightforce (I did).
You can also use this wiring diagram (from Bodsy's gallery)

Awesome job Gareth!
One question. is the light output any better than with the oem lights?
So the standard set up was that they come on if you put on high beam, right?
Couldn't you just put in an HID upgrade in the old lamps??

The light is much better than original lights, plus the LF is adjustable by screwing the lens in or out to either focus a thin bright pencil beam that can go an awful long way, or a wide angle beam.
I could have done an hid upgrade on the originals, but they were looking tatty, were stone chipped, and leaked. I picked up the 170's at a good price.
The vehicle featured LR54 MUD is now long gone, but the same 170's are now fitted to my current D3 and are still as good as new. They are quite old now and have done well over 150k miles and are still as good as new. They are definitely a quality product.
