Release the bonnet catch.
Have someone open the bonnet just a fraction, very slowly. Someone else (preferably multiple people) with extinguishers peering through the gap. Spray in to where you think the fire is coming from.
Don't open the bonnet in one rush as the sudden inflow of air will cause the fire to expand. --

Well another one has gone up Apparently on a trip back from the Snowy mountains over Christmas a D3 was totally destroyed by fire. Initial investigations have narrowed the problem down to either the wiring in the 2nd battery or transmission fluid. Take the road less traveled. A nother one bites the dust, and another one, and another one .....................
There must be a common issue and it must be found and sorted out.
At the moment there does not seem to anything in common with the fires so far but little seems to be investergated properly. In my case LR were not interested in investergating, very poor .
Cheers

Or they know - but are not letting on!
Just like they did with the clock spring (aka rotary coupling) in Australia - they waited for customers to complain and then replace it. In the USA, it was a recall item. Imagine crashing - only to have the airbag not work!

When I get details from our member I will let you know what exatly happened and we can have a chat about it at Bendethera. My daughter is moving to Canberra so will be down that way a bit from mid this month, so if you are too busy picking grapes to get to Bendethera we could catch up in the territory.
cheers
