Thanks to all who contributed to the EGR discussions especially Mikey for the blanking procedure.
Completed it sunday car now running great and probably 10% better than at its best.
It was also a weekend of faults split tailgate cable snapped all fixed for 32 euro.
If we keep this up we might make the stealers a bit more honest.
I had the driverside EGR valve replaced this week as well - no dash lights when mine went US

You will only get a warning light on 07MY>on models (EU4) if an EGR valve fails.

Is increased turbo lag then a cloud of black smoke more likely to be turbo hose or EGR problems?

So thats what they looked like? My D3 was in the garage for a fortnight as they were on back order. I had the car back 24 hours then the other one went as well. Back in the garage for 2 more weeks. Thanks to LR Assist I had a RR and D3 and FL2 to play with while it was in.

Check out this PDF file for all the codes - just press CTRL F to search for EGR related codes.
Thanks to Pete at BAS for the pdf

Sounds like a faulty EGR, but need to get the fault codes read first... My D3 Build Thread

thanks
might blank off and see if it improves - did it a while ago for about a week - long enough to take out tesco warranty in case it was the turbo - then resolved. I guess a split hose wouldn't heal itself. I don't have access to code reader but do have 2ps

So, from what I have read, if I have blanked off the EGR valves on my 2005 car, they should not be able to generate the dreaded "engine system fault".
Anything else other than Turbo and fuel filter bring this warning on commonly??
Worried from Lanark.
