Think you will find these guys are as good as it gets  . I get many of my tyres from them. When I received the D3 it was on their ramp within 24 hours to see what could be done. Could not try the wheels on mine as I had forgotten the locking wheel nut remover  .Thats when we first saw the wiring  . Did you know the spare wheel is part of the crash safety by the way on the D3, so don't remove it guys. You should see Garry's 'yellow' Disco 2 with tyre marks all over it. Still his wife loves it. They also have a mean 90 serious off roader for the likes of Garreth.

Fortunately if I get the 255/55r19 Goodyear MTRs I won't have to remove or change the spare as it has exactly the same rolling radius as my 18 inch wheels. Disco 3 TDV6HSE Cairns blue auto

Do you care about increasing OD from 30" to 32.5"? If not, go super swampers. SSR 265/70R17.
The Land Rover 17" rim will not fit on my HSE.
Has someone tried the 17"? I have been trying to verify this for months... Rumor is BMW X5 17" rims will fit, but it's just rumor, I can't find someone who has tried them.
I assume the 17" rim will catch on the caliper? '05 LR3 HSE

I don't know whether X5 wheels fit but you still have the problem of finding a suitable sized off road or all terrain tyre. Disco 3 TDV6HSE Cairns blue auto

The big problem for me here in the USA is the 19" Goodyear MT/Rs are stupidly expensive. I can find many decent 17" alternatives for 1/3 the cost of the imported 19" MT/Rs. I would have to go a bit bigger in size... But that's a question I'll ask the group later  '05 LR3 HSE

I am getting an ES soon and have done a deal with the dealer no cash and a swap for the 18inch Scorpions (road tyre) for 17inch D3 rims and Cooper 245/70/R17 S/T tyres (www.coppertires.com.au) . OD increases from 760 to 777 just over 1% increase so no speedo worries.

Tdv6 - econnomy = long range per tankful; vital over here in Oz
- grunt for pulling an off-road camping trailer
- enjoyment of the effortless cruising
I was going to wait until LR had ahd a full year of manufacture to iron out the bugs but I made the mistake of having a long test drive in a Tdv6

Hehe, I thought the same thing--I had a lemon of a first-model-year Jeep years ago and swore off first model year cars. Oops, a testdrive tossed that out the window.
The reason I asked about the engine is in reference to the wheel size. Some say 17's will fit a V8, others say no... '05 LR3 HSE

I had talked over this problem with the dealer and he told me of another customer that had fitted a more agerssive Cooper tyre on a D3 only to revert to the S/T (of the size I quoted) in order to reduce road noise from the tyre.
It seems there is no real escape 2 sets of wheels needed dependant on the use.

Depends upon what tires come standard, I think; our stock Good year tires are as noisy as an AT after only 3000 miles  '05 LR3 HSE

Im worried how long the stock Goodyears are gonna last....
Mine are taking a beating starting and stopping the 6000lbs hunk of burnin' love.
But, my driving style doesn't help either!

I can tell you my Rover centre has had complaints from RR3 customers after only 10-15k miles... So I'm not holding my breath for these to last much longer.
I am currently facing quite the quandry--I cut the sidewall of one of mine offroad and I haven't replaced it yet. I can't bear to replace with another crappy Goodyear Wrangler HP... I want the MT/Rs but I won't pay $425+ a tire for them...
So I haven't yet bought anything, but a can of green goop for an emergency  '05 LR3 HSE

Hey- for those in the US, start emailing Tire Rack for the MTRs. I have twice and got replies from two different reps.
Tell them a BUNCH of people want the tires and MAYBE if the right rep gets it they might bring some over.
Hell, they could sell 20 sets the first week. Wa Hoo
