v8 54 plate running on lpg can anyone shed some light |
|
we have a v8 discovery running on lpg, a 54 plate with 43k on the clock, gas conversion done at 29k, it is running fine but the lpg installer has real difficulty trying to keep the amber warning lamp off (on the dash shaped like an engine), the lpg installer seems to think that the engine management system is "too Sensitive" and there is too small a tolerance to i think the mixture ie if it is too lean or too rich, to us the car is running perfectly but i may have the oppertunity to sell the vexhicle but i would like if possible to resolve the warning light issue, anyone any clues, would be greatly appreciated

Had a similar problem with mine a while ago, the installer recalibrated it and it has been fine since. Does it run ok on gas or does it tend to flick back to petrol under hard acceleration? Do you know what type of system it is?

Hi,
It took about 4 return visits to our LPG installer to fine tune the mixture. Lucky for us that are only 15 miles from where we live.
The lambda sensors and oxy sensors are very sensitive on the D3 so even with the misture reading correctly via the exhaust gas analyser it may take a few return visits to fine tune the mixture.

Mainly to Clarabelle:
Saw your posts on LPG: I have a Disco 3 4.4HSE: would you be able to give me the number / name of the installer you used?
Cheers
