Use it or lose it, i have had several sports cars and tmy friends had the same. The only ones that ever had problems were the ones that got laid up for the winter. The ones that got a good beating every day seemed to go on forever. At least if you use it every day you will know when its faulty, if you dont and you do want to use it you will never know. mine is in the dealer being cleaned again as we speak. To be fair never had a screamer or a lock on, it just well, stops working..... end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

Well you have to use it when you park, as it applies when you turn off the engine!
Use ours all the time as its a manual, recently had screamer 17K (13K not ours) and it was stuck on... in a car park queue on a ramp... in the Christmas rush... but dealer sorted under warranty and luckily I was driving not her indoors and had read the release procedure on here the night before!
Its there to be used, if it stops working they can fix it

In the manual version, press the EPB lever down while switching off the ignition. EPB does not engage.
Just remember to leave your D3 in gear.
