What happened to my radio sound ? |
|
Yesterday went through the Birkenhead tunnel with radio on and got a reception all the way through.
Later on way back, I didn't get any radio sound whatsoever [incl no buzzing]!!
In fact absolutely nothing on my 3hr [scenic] drive all the way home.
CD/Sat Nav/Bluetooth all worked ok, but no sound whatsoever from the radio.
Tried turning it off for a period, but still no sound when switched back on.
Back home, locked D3 and let it go to sleep, went back in later and hey presto ....
.....radio is working again.
Just wondering why this happened?
Could it have been struggling to receive a signal in the tunnel and automatically shut something off?
Anyone else experience this?
Very strange ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

mine only did this when the aerial connection fell off. No buzzing, hissing or anything, just silence. It must as you say just switch something off. I reconnected it again after scratching my head again a lot and all was fine next restart. end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

Had the same thing happen to me yesterday. Everything was working fine, I stopped, exited and then locked the car for a few minutes. When I got back in there was no sound from the system. Text was fine, scanning etc all worked but no sound. I drove up the motorway for a few miles and pulled in at the services. Got out of the car, locked it for about 2 to 3 minutes. Unlocked, got back in and switched on, everything was back to normal.
It was almost as if a mute button had been pressed???
No tunnel involved.

I thought there was some updated software for this, I had the same problem. the new software fixed, but the radio died later anyway. TLO got me a new one under warranty.

My base radio used to die first thing every morning in the cold weather. Worked fine when car was warmed up and after I switched off and back on again. I lived with it for a few months and then took it back to Dealers and they uploaded 'new' software and it's been as right as a bobbin ever since. I don't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member...........
