Superchips remap questions |
|
Hi All
I've now had my D3 SE TDV6 for just over 1 week now and am loving it, apart from the fuel consumption . On my old car (a new model Galaxy 2.0D) I had it remapped which took it from 140bhp to 190bhp or so, with a corresponding increase in torque. The difference in driveability was amazing. What was even more amazing still was the approx 10-15% improvement in fuel consumption.
Now, given that I tow a huge twin axle caravan (one of the reasons for the change to the D3) and the idea that I might improve fuel consumption somewhat I have looked into the Superchips remap for my D3. A friend of mine works for a tuning company and I am able to get it remapped from him for £325 all inclusive.
I am really interested to hear from anybody who has done this. Was the mod worth doing in your opinion. What fuel consumption benefits did it bring apprximately in % terms, and crucially were there any reliability issues. Any other useful info would be appreciated as well.
Thanks a lot.

there are many threads here on remaps, but would i have it done again on my next D3...... Definately
Not sure about fuel consumption improvement but the power delivery and torque improvements are well worth it.
I tow a twin axle caravan and easily cruise at mph with little effort. the extra torque also means the car pulls easily without changing down a gear Duncan

There is definitely an improvement in power and torque
with a remap but i think youll see
a drop in economy in around town driving no matter how
gentle you are on the accelerator.
Its hard to get more power without using more fuel Pete

Can be done with remap / software changes to alter timing, turbo boost and EGR valve use. There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song
