Stop taking it personally - there is nothing to 'get straight' and I don't perceive or interpret anything other than what is written. You inferred that he doesn't 'give' and therefore is open to attack. I say that's wrong.
As for expecting people to pay proportionate to their income, I reckon he will do so in one way or another.
There is more than one way to tax an individual skin a cat as this fekin government knows only too well.
BTW, I pay significantly more tax than I receive in employment income so I bet that's proportionately more than you....... The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

Hey WTF personally ...I only read what you say I am
I do hope that you do pay more than me ....you've got to support the English and Scottish afterall
Great debate regardless IMO 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
Where does Lewis earn his money? It's not like he turns up to work in the UK every morning is it? When he races in the four corners of the world, what right does HMRC (or DG) have to claim proportionately on his earnings in another country anyway
He will be taxed (proportionately highly compared to locals) in Switzerland too you know.
Should the Polish government be taxing builders in the UK? Should India or Pakistan be demanding money from doctors in the NHS??????
Edit: Lewis pays £180,000 in tax to the swiss state he (occaisionally) lives in. By contrast, his father held down three UK jobs to pay to get him where he is now. No-one was shouting for UK Plc to give his dad a tax-break to assist him in that quest. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

Oh dear I'd missed the tax debate because I'm not interested in F1.
Sometimes when I read the posts on this Forum I think Thatch is back in charge and the 80s are happening all over again!
Maybe it's because the D3 is a pretty expensive car that most arguments on here seem to be dominated by the right wing (I know that's a generalisation and type-casting D3 owners).
It's a long time since I saw left-wing used in a pejorative way.

Walmsley, you're right.
except there'll be no revolution coz the lazy scumbags scrounging off the state won't be bothered to get off their arses and and do anything unless it involves a pack of 'tabs and 10 pints......... (more generalisations but hey....)
I'm all for supporting those that can't support themselves, but not for supporting those that won't support themselves.
I'm also 100% believer in if you put the work in, you should reap the rewards. I'm all in favour of a slice of that to support those that can't, but a slice only, not 40% of the pie!Bodsys Brake Bible
