I have a pair of these available, fitted them and within 3 miles had problems, thought the problem was wheel speed sensor, into dealers they diagnosed "Low EGR flow", got the car back pretty damn quick and removed them, no more problem.
I will bring them to Tong, free to anyone who wants them, just make a donation to the site, maybe £1 I'm not as good as I once was........but I'm as good once as I ever was.

Ooooh!
Anyone else had a problem?
Edit - is this a MY08 difference? "low EGR flow"?2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods

Did you remove the butterfly as well when you blanked
If yes
Has LR now stuck us with a vacuum sensor D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.
Discoeast, yes the butterfly was removed first, no problems, the problems only started when the plates were fitted, butterfly is still out I'm not as good as I once was........but I'm as good once as I ever was.

Yes, it should only be an 08MY fault. Requires a new thermostat

I confirm my interest in obtaining a pair. Unlikely to be at Tong but happy to pay postage and contribute to site.
Alternatively I would sign up for a group buy.
Disco_Mikey, had this issue with my car from the get-go, the thermostat issue was when the ambient temp was between 0 - 10 degrees C, something to do with the difference between engine and ambient temps, needed the thermostat changing from an 88 degree to an 82 degree IIRC, this issue was resolved on mine well before the blanking episode
The following .pdf is in my gallery and shows the TSB

I think this is a 2007MY and onwards issue. When I fitted mine I also had problems with damn near everything but the engine shutting down, though with mine it was diagnosed as "EGR flow too high" & "Mass air flow too high" at the same time. Guess they fixed that particular oxymoron for 2008
There is no mechanism within the EGR for detecting flow, but the ECU knows how much gas it wants recycled and knows the map of flow vs EGR valve position and therefore knows by how much the Mass air input should drop for a given engine RPM. In layman's terms that means that any EGR mod for 2007 onwards appears it will be far more complicated than a simple blanking plate.
If I find where I hid mine, I'll also make them available for a site donation.Dr. Ian Malcolm:

Transgenic tomato anyone?
