Below are some pictures - we had record snow this December in Oregon. The chains got us around the city just fine, and up to Mount Hood for New Years skiing. They chains are split style and pretty easy to install if you follow the directions - they even come with large plastic gloves to keep your hands clean while installing.
.....would be interesting to know just how much narrower the LR ones are & if this sacrifices some of the strength / wear factor...I know to my cost that a worn then broken chain can inflict serious damage even after a few revs of a wheel.BREXIT - done properly.

I've done a test on these in heavy snow for a magasine, we drove a volvo xc70 ith a pair of these fitted to the front tyres only straight up a piste in austria, we did the same thing with normal chains and the socks went just as far as the chains before slipping...
no snagging issues like th photo's of the chains show either..

seen several makes of this type of cover and all the reading / video's seem to point to an excellent product. However, isn't it a LEGAL requirements in some area's to have snowchains; would that cover autosocks?
