Try and keep plenty of coats of polish/wax on the front panels and you'll find they wipe off with ease. No advice about the windscreen though, sorry, perhaps glass polish of some description? 2007 Porsche Boxster (987) 2.7

Some years ago I had a windscreen replaced on-site by Autoglass (or someone similar). The fitter had one of those one-litre bottles that you get in garden centres to spray house-plants and used it to spray the screen after fitting to get all the glue marks and thumb prints off. It worked a treat. Assuming is was some secret, very expensive, special solution in the bottle, I asked him about it - "Fill the bottle with warm water and add a teaspoon of Fairy Liquid".
Ever since, I have carried that secret solution in a house-plant sprayer (fits very nicely in one of the rear cubby-holes) and a very worn green & yellow pan scourer - that combination is the best and cheapest bug remover I have ever used.

The simple answer is to carry an old face flannel and a bottle of water with a squirt of shampoo in it (hair, not car body). Slosh some of the mix on the screen, and wipe of with the flannel, which is just the right texture to clean the screen effectively without scratching or damaging it any way. Having previously tried all kinds of specialist 'bug removers' etc, I discovered this about three years ago when on holiday, and now always carry the necessary 'kit' with me. Hope it helps.

An old 'exfoliating bath sponge'. Open drivers door, stand other side with sponge over washer jet, with other hand push washer button, quick scrape/wipe, jump back in and go! Don't need to bother with all these window bug sprays and the like. They're good for front of vehicle as that's just as bad! Though, don't worry too much, 'Summer' will be over in a few days time! Don't be paranoid.........'They' don't like it!!!!!!!

Not a problem for me - I'm too short to be able to reach the centre of the windscreen. I can only clean a little patch near each front door. It's a bit like driving a post box by looking out of the letter slit, but as an ex tank driver, that's not a problem either. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that they're not out to get you.
