Any chance of getting a 'Red Top' option here? Betsy also needs a new main battery.

britindus I'm driving down to Italy in August. Going close to the German border, but not as far up as Dus. I'd offer to bring one over as hold luggage on the plane next time I'm over, but 3....
But don't forget to sign up at the top!
Update on the Drivesafe battery thingy. Tim's beenin touch & I'm expecting some prices this week, along with an update on a new 'kit' for the SC80.
Will keep you posted.

Soon as poss from my point. Just waiting for Drivesafe to confirm his bit (if you want the drivesafe bit). Happy to get the battery ASAP though.
As for the bracket, I can't remember if it's a different bracket for you funny sided drivers or if it just reverses? Will investigate further Bodsys Brake Bible

Main reason for using this kit (for me!) is that it comes all prepared & is (according to others on here) a relatively straight forward DIY fit. Bodsys Brake Bible

Ah, so, if you have a car with a wheel on the wrong side (there are only two sides right and wrong, the UK is right hand drive, everyone else is wrong hand drive) you would need the bracket the other way around
UK people with the wheel (and hole for optima) on the right side of the car need a LHD battery bracket (stay with me here) as you want a bracket to fit the side where the battery WOULD be on a left hand drive car. This is YFJ500100.
European/Left hand drive people, have a hole for a battery on the left of your car, where the battery would be on a right hand drive car. So you need a RHD drive bracket which is I believe YFJ500110.
If you think about it, where the standard battery on an EU car is, is the bracket the UK people want (a LHD bracket), the hole on the EU cars is on the left, where a standard battery is for a UK car, so you need a RHD bracket.
Confusing isn't it.
As I understand it they are the same price.
Its not clear if the bolts are the same, but I think they are looking at a diagram that was sent to me during a debate of what side we needed
In terms of winching, you would be better of with a system that uses a standard dumb relay with a high current as I understand it, so more current can flow from the secondary battery to the primary when its under winch load. You also want some booster spec cable like 25mm^2 which is good for 170 or so amps, not the smaller stuff that the split charging kits have, which are designed for charging not for heavy loads.
However I don't own a winch, have never had a system with a winch, and you really should wait for someone to come along who can speak from experience rather than theory Disco3 is now gone but not forgotten. Waiting for Disco6 with full aluminium construction weight reduction and hybrid engine...

You want a starter battery Gareth? I thought Red Top was for Cranking power & Yellow top for Deep cycle power.
Haven't asked about the red top version TBH. You need something specific? Bodsys Brake Bible
