One Giant leap for mankind - but was if backward or forward

Just got me my brand new disco 3 - v6 petrol auto - "upgraded" from the Disco 2 V8. I reckon the V8 had more get up & go & was heaps smoother - new thing seems to learch from gear to gear every two seconds. Where's the takeaway food bag hook - Carpet mats?? is this 4WD. Gonna take some getting used to lol. Whingeing pom I Know. Very Happy

Dunno about the D3, but the RRS has 2 curry hooks, one either side of the lower glove-box Thumbs Up

Hi PominOZ, welcome to the forum..

I upgraded from the D2 V8 to the V6 petrol like you, however my story is completely opposite. The D3 is smoother and no problems with gear changes... suggest you get it checked out... and as far as power goes, on premium unleaded I doubt the D2 would beat it in a quarter mile dash!
BTW carpet mats came standard in mine back in 2005, however I haven't used mine at all since I purchased the rubber mats which are brilliant. Keeps the sand and dirt out and really easy to keep clean...

The D3 is a massive leap forward even without the curry hooks Thumbs Up
What's the point.... it all comes out in the wash anyway!

If you open the lower glove box you can hang the plstic bag from the corner of the facing, just close the front to keep in place. Very Happy

I am getting used to transmission now but the gear changes are a lot more often than the old V8 so the ride feels a lot less smooth. Thanks for the tips on the curry holders - I've been strugging home one handed from Shri's leaning into the passanger seat.

I bought the optional extra diff lock but I note that the manual doesn't have any information on it. I have no idea how to engage it but was told it was automatic? Any info on this would be appreciated.

Also I have two children for sale if anyone wants them - would suit medical experiments market. Forced to sell due $1.50 plus a litre. Wink wish I had the extra 12K to buy the TDI. Extra 50K for the RRS is a little to much to shell out for the curry hooks but I wish I had half your luck!

Cheers guys.
