How to refit snorkel.
Hi everyone. My Disco 3 has a Land Rover snorkel. Tonight, my son and I undid the two bolts at the bottom and pulled it away from the wing when trying and find the cause of a leak from the sunroof drain channel on the driver's side. Refitting the snorkel proved to be a problem. There are two nuts inside the wing to which the bolts should be screwed in. It appears to us that they need to be held in place to do this from inside the wing . How do I get access to these two nuts to hold them in position while tightening the two long bolts of the snorkel? Is it simply a case of removing the wheel arch trim to gain access? Any advice will be much appreciated.

They're usually a Rivnut - sometimes they're not fitted tightly enough.
When I fitted both mine and my sons RAI we made sure they were in securely otherwise they spin and you can't tighten the fixing down.
You could try gently resetting the Rivnut - if you haven't got the specific tool search online for DIY. It's basically a combination of bolt, washers and nuts - very easy.
Or you could try a very strong adhesive but that's not what I'd recommend.
Otherwise you can take the trim off and use a pair of grips to hold the Rivnut while refitting the RAI.I see no ships........
