Middle seat stuck down in flush position

Subject says it all really!

Put all seats down as normal to get something big in and now the middle one won't release. Tried pushing down as I pull but no luck.

What should be looking at?

Sorry to ask, but you are pulling the release cord hard enough, aren't you?

Mine can be a tw4t to get enough pull on it.

Kneel on it, pull the cord. Keep cord pulled and get off it. They stick sometimes.

Sometimes the pull cord slips off the release bar if its fully flat not sure how you get around that maybe one of those endoscope things you can get off ebay to slide under for a looksee or check how the strap attaches on the onese you can get up and feel your way on the other.

Can't help with this situation, but I have the opposite issue. Our Middle seat will not go down in the flush position !

it's possibly the exact same issue !

does it go down then pop-up ? mine did that when something had jammed in the mechanism.

but the pull-cord does jam so can keep the seat up or dow, whichever is least convenient.

Something must deteriorate as I assume they were not so difficult when new.

Anyhoo, tried again this afternoon and it finally let go. Need to look into it as I am looking to sell.

we've had forum members who've had their car 8 years and only recently discovered the 2nd row seats can drop to "level" ... I don't think I'd worry about it too much Laughing

Next time you're passing through the Manchester area, swing by and - for just £50 - I'll do the mod you're missing. Laughing

OR ... look under the seats. Find a cord that looks like it can be pulled and ... pull the flipping thing. Rolling with laughter

And whilst you're doing the middle seat, have a look for the cup holders in the back of the centre console.

But these were only fitted on cars with a D in the name.

Yep, all three go down nice and easy, in my case it was getting the b*****d to go back up again was the problem.

Now I'm scared to push it down in case it REALLY gets stuck!

Of course when it drops it must close up a gap so if something is already filling the space it might explain the problem.
