T’is indeed, just down the road from where we are staying. We loved the memorial to the hunted ducks, like a happy duck in the after-life will lead to more ducks on the pond!

So fishing is allowed in the ponds ? must be as it's not expressly forbidden... be nice to bring a large Koi back for your pond at home I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

I’ve spent many an hour there wandering around and just sitting reading a book. It’s a beautiful park. The trees are incredibly well manicured. The gardeners really take pride in what they do.
I often stay at the Royal Park hotel in Shiodome. It’s great for the tube.New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)

We’re in the InterCont Tokyo Bay, a bit (1km) away from rail & metro but it’s fantastic sitting on the room’s sofa watching the view. Agreed re Hamarikyu gardens, they are perfectly manicured.

Our local park is Kyu-Shiba-Ricku gardens, Hamarikyu Garden’s littte brother. We’ve walked past it a good few times but always been in a rush to go somewhere else, but today it was top of the schedule. We really like this part of Tokyo.

Not sure I’d get it past security in HND T2. We were in a park yesterday with massive koi, even splashed out ¥100/55p on food for them. Not a good investment as they were not hungry at all.

Safe journey Del, by the way I was texting with Nige earlier, and so it seems you'd better pick up some kippins and a pack of fire lighters on you way home! yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

I like ANA. The seats are huge!
Safe travels. At least you're flying with time.
Also, have you thought of taking up squatters rights at Nige"s At least you'll be able to enjoy some warmth. New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)

It was a pretty good flight, I found it pretty comfy, MrsDSL not so much. Food & drink were good too. The flight was over the pole, up to the E of Russia, clipped W Alaska then over lots of ice, not that we saw anything after leaving Japan apart from the lights of a couple of towns in Alaska.
Frankfurt is pretty nippy, looking forward to getting warm back home. Might have to move in with Nige, still have a bit of a cold so will be snoring away. And I like the left side of the bed if we’re cuddling up to keep warm.

And last few pics from this little jolly to the land of the rising sun.
It was weird yesterday, heading up and over the pole.

Saw the lights of Barrow AK when we headed over the last bit of Alaska, looked better out of the window than in the pic.

Going that way meant we had the ability to experience 2 sunrises and 2 sunsets. Just missed the first sunrise from hotel, slept through the sunset when we had just headed up to the E of Russia, but caught the sunrise over N Atlantic and set when we were approaching FRA. Heading that way would be pretty spectacular if flying in mid summer, esp as we flew over the Arctic Ocean and Greenland.

Needless to say jetlag is doing its thing again. I’ve been awake since 2:30am and SWMBO since 11:30 last night. At least the hotel is close to the airport and got the shuttle bus straight away.
And the last pic from the trip (possibly) has to be from this morning’s breakie. The breakfast at the Holiday Inn Frankfurt Airport would put a lot of posher hotel chains to shame. Absolutely fantastic, hit the spot and I’m sure peeps thought we hadn’t eaten for a week! This was just the starter!!
It’s been a fantastic trip, one of our best. Really love Japan, fantastic country, fantastic peeps, fantastic getting around and fantastic food, ignoring SWMBO’s mini rebellion against chopsticks. We went to places that are well off the beaten tourist track, became skilled in the art of google translate on the move and are looking forward to heading back.
