I've done it. Cold rainy night on the motorway. People will continue to do this as long as LR keep manufacturing the compressor cover with a hole and profile that exactly matches the male section of the b*****y scissor jack. You've probably snapped the aluminium bracket that holds the compressor on and it's vibrating on the body shell or close to it.

Thats why the guy on the Land Rover Experience afternoon I went on said "If you get a puncture, call Land Rover Assistance" then.
they actually tell you to ring rather than change it your self.
"I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you read is not what I meant"
Call LRA for a puncture? When I can have the pleasure of seeing a Highway Womble's face when they find me with the D3 up on the Takla at the side of the road? I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I'd double check that. I broke the bracket (into little bits ) and bent the mounting lugs on the compressor which in turn was making a horrible noise. LR replaced the bracket, straightened the lugs and remounted the compressor for AUD$500.
