Help with de-pressurising air-suspension.

Morning all,

A little while back, one of my airlines got melted by hot exhaust gas from the FBH. See here if you're interested...

Anyway, I repaired the problem by cutting out the melted bit and re-joining with a 6mm pneumatic connector but ever since I've had occasional suspension faults when attempting to put the suspension into Access mode. The code I get is C1A13-64 which is 'Pressure does not decrease when venting gallery'.

I've done a bit of reading and a few of you have provided a few ideas so I have a plan of attack to try and resolve this. Mainly, I want to re-inspect the airlines to check I didn't miss another melted/kinked bit and also I plan to take off the connector and ensure that the airline is nice and round going into it (rather than flattened slightly from the cut).

Here in lies my concern...if I remove the air connector, won't that suddenly rush out the pressure causing the suspension to deflate (I'll have it on a jack) but also causing me to Censored myself?? Is there a way of de-pressurising the whole thing before I jack it up and start fiddling with airlines?

I have a Gap IID tool on order so if that can help then I'll have one by the time I plan on doing the work. I also intend on using the tool to calibrate the suspension as a matter of course.

Gap will do it.
I think you are lookin in the wrong place for the fault.

More at the back end of the car on passenger side

Thanks Pete, I will bear that in mind but the point reason I'm starting at the front is this is where the burst airline was. Quite possible that caused an issue further down the system but I want to rule out anything obvious first.

I need to get in there anyway to replace my FBHB exhaust as I've ordered a new one so not wasted effort.

Glad the Gap will do it... much appreciated!

you could put some soapy water on the joint (while air in system) to prove its not leaking.

If not, your probably best leaving it alone

As Pete says Thumbs Up probably exhaust blocked under near side wheel arch, check that first. It can when others can't,

Thanks guys... are we talking about the front near side? I'll be taking that wheel arch cover too take a good look.

What does the exhaust look like? I would have no idea what I'm looking for... we're talking about the air system aren't we?

Thanks for the edit - the point about disconnecting the exhaust as a quick test for diagnosis seems a good one and a way to isolate where the fault might be so I'll try that out. Thanks Smile
