No, just checked and it’s not been cancelled. Yet! Whilst we like Chicago it’s deffo time to get moving. Plus this time tomorrow the forecast is -9c, -16c with windchill!

Gratuitous pic from breakie table, it doesn’t show that it’s snowing but it is. it’s going to be strange not layering up in SF, and points west. Might even need to buy some sun cream!

If you’re going to the Bay Area, do go to the following places and don’t just stay on the peninsula:
- Moffett field historical society museum. Has Air Force and Navy kit. You’ll need your passports to enter through the security checkpoint
- the intel museum in Santa Clara
- computer history museum in Mountain View
- Stanford campus which is really nice although it’s nicer in the summer than in winter

And greetings from Denver.
Interesting night’s sleep, top bunk with no window and not a lot of vertical room for my slight frame!! Also the train driver honks his horn a good number of times for every road crossing, all through the night, there are thousands of crossings. Plus we are only 2 coaches behind the loco, I kept waking up thinking of the Notra Dame dude, just saying “the horns, the horns”.
Up early though, one hour time zone shift, had breakie and now parked in the observation car ready to go through the Rockies. There should be lots of snow on the hills, hopefully good pics.
Meanwhile, few pics from the train yesterday. Was typically -6c to -8c out there and was pretty fresh when I popped out for the first pic.

@kajtzu, thanks for those suggestions, will have a mooch through today. Unfortunately Moffat Field is a no-go as it would take most of the day to get there and back. Unfortunately no car on this part of the trip.
PS Just realised we missed Nabraska, all of Nabraska. Sorry Nabraskatarians. Also passed within spitting distance of Offutt AFB, but it was just before 11pm and pitch black out there.
