They do come up on eBay occasionally , trouble is many don’t have the fitting kit and there obsolete ,
Very luckily I managed to get both an A bar and one of those sliding boot floor which is also obsolete
Have also seen them come up here on occasion

You can’t get them as new anymore - out of stock since forever. Best you can get would be used in decent shape. The metal parts have usually rusted and you need to manufacture new.
What are you wanting to do? We can help you better if you state what you want to achieve. If you want to put a LED bar down front you certainly don’t need the A bar for anything. Here the bar is camouflaged by snow, it’s installed in the lower air intake.

Or, at install time, at its final location

If it wasn't obvious this most certainly is my first rodeo. I bought an 09 SE with 150k on the clock. The blower itself within two minutes of me owning it, the wiring harness in the sill was at best, moist. However having fixed all that over the weekend (new fan motor, drying everything out) it seems to be all good. Having massively questioned my life choices I am now very happy. Even if driving it with your arm on the rest makes you feel like Boromir at the meeting of the Fellowship. (One does not simply fix a Discovery...)
In regards to the A Bar, I just wanted one cos they're cool.... However I'm thinking about a facelift grill and LEDs as above...

Hehe
Apropos rodeos - George Strait sang in Amarillo by morning, “I ain’t rich but lord I’m free” that’s why you have D3. Had the fellowship had a discovery, Boromir would still be kicking. These are nice vehicles but they need some TLC every now and then. Perhaps the previous owner decided to cut their losses or just didn’t want to bother anymore.
A rainy day fixing fund is probably a smart idea considering your vehicle is slightly unknown to you yet, I think.

True on all counts. I'm going to get it serviced fully and megaflushed over Christmas hopefully. The belts were done 4 years ago and 35k miles so should be ok till next year when I'll get them done for price of mind.

I fitted a Stedi light bar behind the lowest slot of the grille. No need for any cutting and quite a stealth installation. Very pleased with light output.D1 300Tdi - gone
D2 Td5 ES (Alive remapped...mmm) - sadly gone

I saw those. I'm thinking about one on the lower intake and two rectangular ones on the upper grill. As above^^ think it looks cool.

Depends on how complex you want it to be…
I used lazer’s cabling kit, ignored the internal switch and took the wake-up from the car’s long beams. So they light up every time the car’s long beams are triggered.
