New battery fitted. EGR fix tested. All working fine now although got a new noise but that can go on the back burner for now.

Oops. The new sound was the radiator fan touching the butterfly valve housing. Now sorted. It's running so much better now since the EGR blank AND the battery replacement. Starts quicker and seems more responsive.

Correction to above. The fan was hitting the black box before the butterfly valve (actuator?) housing. The two bits the big round wire clip holds together. That box wasn't fully home. It was making a bit of a racket as you can imagine. Embarassed

It does indeed feel good Kevin. That reminds me, I need to cancel the garage appointment I'd booked for them to fix it. Very Happy £££
