I am a total beginner, but I want to replace my right/drivers/offside rear wheel bearing and am determined to DIY it. Having watched the videos and read old forum posts it seems I have two choices, and I would need to buy the required tools for one of the options below.
If I go down route 1, please can someone advise what pressure press I would need (my land rover is 2005, old, and rusy). 20T, 30T? Does anyone know what tooling I would need to buy to press it out (the official JLR tooling mentioned in the workshop manual seems unnecessarily pricey to me).
In option 2 they make a tool that fits over the port on the knuckle arm. Does anyone know what the diameter is of the port so that i can see if there is a kit with a sufficient sized cup so i dont have to do this.
Thanks for the advice
Mike

I bought a 12 tonne press, and that did rear wheel bearings just fine. Richard

P.S if you do get a press, don't press the new bearing in using the inner race! You'll damage the new bearing (brinelling - look it up online) before it even gets on to the car.Richard
