Lower hub bush replacement |
|
Afternoon all
I'm after some pointers / advice.
I need to replace the lower bush in the rear hub knuckle. It's been over 8 years and many miles since I last did them.
In that time age and grey hair has caught up with me and I'm if I can remember the easiest way to access the bush.
I'm not fazed by pressing the old one out and the new one in - but I'd like to remove as few bits as possible to do the work. The less time I spend under the thing means the fewer times I need to struggle out to go for (yet another) pee....
Is it possible to simply remove the bush bolt and the pan head rod bolt and lever the knuckle out of the arm? Is there enough 'swing' to do that?
Or is that just the wishful hopes of a pensioner....
My major worry is popping the driveshaft or similar.
Many thanks
