I have had no previous issues with the gearbox on my 2012MY D4
Got in the car this afternoon and on pressing the start button error message “gearbox fault “ appeared and the white gearbox icon remained lit
Turned off car and left for 30secs and started again with same message
The engine started, Engaged reverse and D ok and I was also able to change into low ratio mode and switch back but light remained lit
Took dog a walk and jumped in the car 50 minutes later and no sign of the message when starting the car.
I took it for a short drive and it all seemed ok
Has anyone any ideas what the problem may be and am I ok to drive the car

First thing to check is your battery.... Soon as they get weak the car throws all sorts of rogue errors.
Check you have at least 12.5 before start and that the crank doesn't send it too far below 12.
It could of course be a gear box related issue but I always look at voltage before taking anything too seriously! A mod a week until I have nothing to improve or add.

I have had this previously and was due to not pressing the brake pedal hard enough when starting D4 3.0 TDV6 HSE Galway Green Black Leather Adaptive Xenons Logic 7 TV Pre-heater
