I would like to point out that the NHS performs free rectal photography on a regular basis. It is quite a useful service as Barbara has found out recently. Personally I would describe rectal photography as a right PITA.

At Salford Royal, they now do this "virtually"
No, you don't get to insert your webcam during a Zoom meeting. They use a CT Scanner to look at your innards
I guess if anything untoward is spotted then they break out the vaseline and endoscope, but for most patients is enough and less of a PITA .
