Electrical fault anyone know an auto electrican in Bedford.

So I swapped a perfectly working compressor for a new one and now no suspension and the yellow fuse 60amp fuse keeps blowing. To cut a long story short, I bought a kit to replace the stuff in the filter on the old AMK compressor did that and went to replace compressor, at that point I rounded a aluminium thread on a join with a pipe (rear side) and rendered that compressor useless as no spares - hence new one for that part. Came with a relay. Not an original AMK part.

Fitted new and old back with both new and old relays and everything in between, but no joy. I’m not at electrically minded and prefer the field + match approach. This is now seriously annoying me.

The fault is as follows: c1A27-14 and circuit based. Something does the fuse after between 20-60 secs after start up. I’ve run out of patience and fuses 6 so far.

Currently the car is on the bump stops as fully lowered when changing compressor. This is clearly not a turn it off and turn it on again problems. As an aside I also looked at and cleaner the front drivers side valve and that was working fine. It’s a good car in very good condition and I need it fixed again please.

Any EASY to follow advice or recommendations for assistance would be gratefully received. Based in Bedford and obviously it can’t be driven (far).

Many thanks
Douglas

Not a million miles from you are https://www.hazzydayz.com/

They are auto electrical and deal with VW, Audi, Lambo... they do some other work but they'll give you a decent steer as to whether they can or can't and where to go.

We use them on our old Audi and they are very good...

I would start checking all cabling in vicinity you were working for anything as 15 year old harness tends to brake when disturbed after while

got multimeter?

Thanks for the replies, turns out next door knows how to use the multi-meter so we’ll try and tackle the obvious bits next weekend as I also now have Covid too. Thanks dear little daughters!!!!

The relay was updated I believe but the fuse stays at 60amp a I’ve read elsewhere. Since the old and new compressor and old and new relay mixed and swapped back and forth both still blow the 60amp, my conclusion is wiring and that’s the bit I’m getting help with.
