Yes easy start was on my shelf before I left Smile

But I am now the owner of 2 batteries and a charger and remote fbh gizmo so always look on the bright side etc. Will see if the remote fbh will dig me out of this hole. If not Amazon deliver to my ski resort (twice now) and easy start will be on its way too

Buy a 2000 ohm or 3000 ohm resistor un-plug the sensor you poured the water on stick the resistor in the cable plug across the 2 pins.
The car should start.
Then take the resistor out of the plug and plug it back into the sensor you can do this with the engine running.
As a point of interest let me know what the temp is on the dash as my Disco will start like this down to -3
so you'll be the first if it colder than -3.
when it starts it will be very lumpy for a bit.
hope this helps.

Easy start on its way and resistors too thanks for the alternative options

Well I’m happy and distressed.

Car started thanks to the remote fbh which I Heath Robinson’d see photos (yes that is blue tack and charger clips)

Now I have suspension 3amigos and the following codes:

U0073-88
C1A30-64
U0416-94

These motors are VERY sensitive to battery condition….
As said before you had a severe deep cycle situation ….

If the condition of your battery is damaged now (sulfated) and it does not hold its healthy voltage (12.6V min, pref 12.7V) the electronincs of your D3 react with suspension not working/lowering, etc…

What can help, is letting it run for a while… stop the engine and start it again (within a minute)

Ps. Starter cables attached with crocodile clips, can transfer the needed current not quick enough some times…since it is very cold now…. the battery it self needs to be healthy
 Best regards
Harold

I think he said he ordered a new battery. Have you fitted it?

Pleased to hear it’s running.

I searched on here and C1A30-64 says both suspension height? buttons pressed on the center console.
Clear codes and confirm it returns

I think that’s a job for when you get home, as long as standard ride height is ok to get you home
The center console is like a tv remote. Clean the button contacts with alcohol inside
Or maybe water got inside.

I have the new battery installed but the old one is fully charged so will swap round.

The car car is sitting on its rear bump stops so it’s not driveable.

When I clear the stability control code it comes back immediately. The other 2 lights are now permanently off and stay off. But stability control has turned from yellow to red.

Tried jumping the relay and the compressor does not come on so is the code preventing the compressor from starting?

I will swap the battery and see if that works.

Read suspension codes again

It’s worrying the compressor won’t run with relay bypassed. Check it’s fuse. It’s the large one with clear window on the top

Fuse looks unbroken but blue in colour whilst the others are still normal colour.

I still have the other battery in the apartment and will swap to see if it sorts it out

What value is the suspension fuse? (Plastic colour denotes)

When you bypassed the relay, did you get a little spark ?

No change with the new battery.

I can’t honestly believe that it chose to fail immediately on the day I arrived. I used access mode to get the skis off the roof and forgot to set back to normal.

Could the height sensors be frozen in position?

I don’t think it’s the sensors

Try driving it above 10mph just incase it fancies rising the suspension itself, it should do,
But unlikely with a red light on.

Otherwise maybe you can drive to somewhere warmer and stay, get a garage to look at compressor or get it recovered.

Fault codes always help

All of a sudden the suspension kicked back in. I think I will remove the fuse now it’s in normal mode,

Red light on dashboard still present though

A bit of a "wild card" this, but if the desiccant in the drier is old it may be holding too much moisture which has now frozen solid in the alpine conditions. This would severely restrict the air flow from the compressor to the reservoir.

If you have a diagnostic tool with you you should be able too see what's happening with the compressor in "live values" Alternatively a hair drier to warm up the drier on the compressor might help.

I would ONLY (edit)leave the fuse out if you think the compressor is jammed. It will gererate fault codes.
Maybe insert it when you reach warmer places and if it’s low.

There is a small 20A yellow fuse suspension under the bonnet, when removed will jam it at its current height (subject to leaks)
Some options for you to be aware of
