Something weird going on......!
Hi guys, recently I drove to the local town to get my covid booster.......filled the fuel tank to full as usual.
Had the jab and drove slowly back home...at the most 15 miles.
Two days later I got into the car and the fuel gauge was down to 3/4 full..!!
No leaks anywhere or even a smell of diesel.
Only thing I can think of is the FBH kicking in. But a) will it do so of its' own accord? and b) if so would it stay on long enough or the consumption be enough to use a quarter tank..?
It was pretty cold for those nights but it hasn't done this before....that I know of.
Weirdly my Sky Q box has been switching itself on at times at 12-2am. Spooky as I live way out in the countryside.
Cheers

as standard they run only when the engine is running,
unless there is a box of tricks under the bonnet.
Still wouldn't use that much fuel though

My FBH definately munches throguh the deisel when it is below 6 degrees - i reckon it would take as much as 10-12 miles off the range of a tank in doing a 15 mile journey wo work in the morning.

I have noticed the heater starting sometimes when getting in on a cold morning.
So presume it's working as it should.

When I was diagnosing my FBH problem I calculated approximately how much diesel a 30 minute (timed climate) run would use as follows :
From the Webasto service manual 180 seconds at 7Hz should = 40ml of diesel
40 / (180 * 7) = 0.0317ml per pulse
When running Park Heating : 30 minutes at 5.25Hz.
30 minutes = 1800 seconds.
1800 * 5.25 = 9,450 pulses
9,450 * 0.0317 = 299.565ml of diesel
So I guess you could get through it quite quickly in the cold weather but I can't see how it would do 1/4 tank in 2 days.
Cheers

So 0.3l for 30 mins
Though I think it would cut out sooner when Parked
The whole point of the thing is to make the engine more fuel efficient, so it should use loads itself
