Mine was done at 60k or 5 years I think? As per the LR service schedule… it’s all online so I guess every 60k or 5 years would be correct if you are at 10 years now.
It’s an interesting subject…. This gearbox is excellent as we all know and is used across a few different vehicles…. In my now gone BMW X5 they insisted it stayed “sealed for life” and was never included in any service schedule.
A D4 is likely to have a very different life to a pretty X5 so I put it down to that but I would stick to LR service schedule. It’s all online to look at just pop your vin number in.A mod a week until I have nothing to improve or add.

Personally, I'd stick to ZFs service interval, of 7 years and 50-75k miles
They built the box, they know what's needed from a maintenance perspective My D3 Build Thread

So I just checked mine online.... the LR service schedule is more frequent than ZF's! Mine was completed at 5 years as per LR.
The BMW with the very same box.... sealed for life.
ZF somewhere between the 2...... 7 years or the same 80k mileage as LR.
As the OP originally noted.... a bit of a minefield! At least you have the all the information now Evotone! I would get it done if you don't have a record of it being changed ..... but that's subjective A mod a week until I have nothing to improve or add.

Interesting Mikey….
It was prior to my ownership so I really don’t know….. but my online service states “transmission oil changed” at 5 years….. so that will have been the transfer box and not the gear box? Confusing!A mod a week until I have nothing to improve or add.

Can you show me the LR schedule that includes the Gearbox oil please? Mine doesn't.

As stated above it was prior to my ownership.... my service states "transmission fluids changed" I have now been advised by Disco Mikey above that it would probably been the transfer box and differential oils.
I have now searched through online and can confirm that the "automatic transmission fluid" is scheduled to be changed at 160k or 120 months. (along with the transfer box, locking dif & non locking difs)
There is nothing mentioned for "Automatic transmission fluid" until 10 years or 160k miles. I have searched this via my VIN so this is specifically a March 2014 D4 facelift.
It is bloody confusing that "transmission fluids" on my service sheet only relates to Dif and transfer box though!
Hope that clears up the confusion! A mod a week until I have nothing to improve or add.
