Foam in intake pipe
Dreaded hdc fault
Altinator changed as was only putting 13 v out.
Long story short
Put foam in air intake pipe to the right hand side of the fan.
Started car without removing it.
Car won't rev at all.
Tried a vacuum down the pipe with no luck
How do i get the pipe off
Assuming it's wheel arch protector off

Yeah passenger wheel arch liner off
It runs near the large metal pipe.
There is 1 or 2 8mm bolts near that metal pipe.
It’s a pain to get out

Your foam will be jammed in the metal pipe connected to the turbo. Removal of that pipe is high on the difficulty scale, and will take hours.
A small flexible corkscrew type drain cleaner may be your answer to grab the foam and pull it out. Then use the vacuum cleaner to remove any bits that might have come off.Chris

I've had a hoover down the mouth of the pipe to no avail
Hopefully wheel arch liner off then split pipe somewhere
Or can that not be done

There is a joint by the turbo. So if you are lucky (or maybe unlucky) it will be there.

Firstly, I would try something like this into the plastic pipe where you put the foam. Just a few pounds from a hardware store or Amazon.
But be careful not to use enough length to enter the turbo Chris

Just had to chuckle to myself
You sent me a link for a drain python
I'm literally feeding my royal pythons at the moment

A well trained python might work, if small enough
Here is another possibility
Pipe to turbo (with jammed foam) is all plastic, the return pipe to intercooler is metal.
A standard vacuum cleaner hose is 40mm OD, which you can turn and slide inside the plastic pipe. With no obstruction it will go almost all the way to the turbo. You need a flat end on the hose with no attachment. With vacuum cleaner running push the hose in, if it grabs the lodged foam the motor sound will change as you would hear with the pipe blocked. You can then try pulling it out.
I tried this with a loose turbo pipe on the floor using a piece of cleaning sponge and it worked quite well.
If you use a metal drain cleaner, your safe length to insert is 90cm, this would stop well clear of the turbo.
Thinking about it... Vacuum cleaner will work best if it can draw air through the system rather than trying to create a Vacuum or even drawing air past itself then into it's tube, so try unclipping the throttle body elbow to allow air backwards through the tubing?.
