Lifeboat was absolutely fine when we were there. We were given a personal guided tour of the station and shop by Euan and Helen, and treated to a exercise launch. Very interesting place and well worth all the support it gets.

Just saw the result Nigel….in the 1900+kg (over £50,000) the X5 45e was voted Best in Class. Considering the others were the Defender D300, Discovery D300, Q7 and X7 40d that’s pretty remarkable Shocked

Had an 9% off offer on a M Sport Pro Pack X545E. (No idea what it is but its was down the more expensive end of the options)

Need to drive one, but as we've had 6 BMWs previously I cant see that being an issue. The issue I have is will it stay on the drive (last one had an attempted theft) and will it chew through a set of tyres every 19k

Well driven one and now ordered . Very impressed with the hybrid and hard to tell which power scource is driving the car. Dogs just about have enough space but an taller breed would struggle with the reduced height in the boot due to the battery.

Ride on air is superb, even with the 22in fitted to the demo, and nowt like the E70 X5s of old.

Glad you liked it. I love it quite frankly….quick, quiet and extremely economical….still surprised my 22’s don’t ruin the ride, proving how good the air suspension is.
I’ve been speaking about the car to another forum member who was interested, and he ordered one yesterday. We’ll either get our own separate section or get thrown out at this rate Laughing
As an aside, I see LR are quoting 60 miles of electric range on the new Full Fat, so at least they’re getting their act together with PHEV Thumbs Up

I stand by that Euan. For my personal use, I’d still have the Discovery, but looking objectively there’s no denying how good the BMW is. The problem with the X7 (and the Merc GLS) is that it’s simply too big to be practical in the UK, good as it (they) is (are). The Q7 is good, but is a little flawed in the chassis department (you sometimes get a bit of an after-shock going over a bump). The Defender (IMO) is probably the most over-hyped car that’s been released for a long time. Pretty good, but not good enough - as a tow car.

As you say, LR are slowly getting to grips with the hybrid/electric business, so who knows what next year’s event will bring?

I had a deposit down on one of the new Ineos Grenadiers as I thought that would fulfil my requirements for the next few years.

Having driven the X5 though I realised I prefer the creature comforts and build quality of a known Marque.

Deposit was returned by Ineos in a round 5 days and X5 ordered…

What's the ETA of the X5 Bev? March/ April for us but I note the order has 03/03/22, on it. But then again my Defender had 05/09/21 Rolling with laughter

Feels odd going back to BMW but a great hybrid system, air sorts the ride out (which I hated of previous versions), and I managed to pursaude the Mrs to stay with the standard M sport 20in wheel to allow all season tyres to be fitted. Added the comfort pack, sunroof, sun protection and parking assist, and a Citroen Ami Thumbs Up

ETA was end or March for my order. I haven’t read all the paperwork but it will be a few weeks before build slot is confirmed.

The Grenadier had no ETA at all Whistle to be fair they refunded the deposit within 3 working days of asking for it back.

My options are fairy similar to yours, with a couple extra like tow bar for bike racks and full merino leather because it was lovely in my 740…..

Found these as a winter set. I like them a lot but it feels so wrong on an X5!
