I have been with the RAC for more than 50 years. They recovered my MGB GT V8 for Spain some 20 years ago without too much hassle & no expense to me.
Since then their service seems to have declined whilst cost of membership has increased dramatically.
I read this, posted on local social media at c.10:00 this morning:-

Same, I have AA cover bundled in with my premium bank account. They've always been quick to respond.
