New D4 purchase
Morning all - looking at acquiring a D4 HSE 65 (reg. 09/15) plate on 48k miles to replace my good old D3 SE (55MY & 156k) - I’m aware that there is some history of unexplained/sudden D4 SDV6 crank failure issues, but are there any other specific things to look out for on a D4 of this era? Looking to buy from a LR dealership so used approved with 12M warranty... Cheers

Thanks. Yep, 112k or 7 years. Gives me approx. 20 months to save up!...
Slightly concerned about the crank-shaft issues though. Following 156k ‘largely’ trouble free miles in the current D3, just wondering whether there’s a crankshaft out there ‘with my name on it?’...

As far as the crank goes, oil change using good quality oil twice a year on an average mileage, using a genuine/oem filter. Other than that its a lottery.
