Interchangeable parts
Evening all,
I know a lot of the discovery 3 parts are interchangeable with RR sports of the same era. Is this also the case with the full fat Range Rover?

No, the L319 and L320 share many of the same components because they were designed in tandem under the same owning company. The L322 was its own project with a separate design team. Some smaller items may be the same but larger assemblies aren’t (excluding engines obviously).
The L319 and L330 have tons of Ford, Volvo and BMW parts fitted and also common components to other vehicles such as the entertainment system which was used by Bentley, Ford, Jag, Aston, Volvo, VW, BMW etc. With individual tweaks.012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)

Just think of the first RRS as a D3 in drag.

Thank you guys, At the moment I currently have a disco in the garden with a failed bottom end. I was thinking of keeping it as a donor vehicle for what ever I get next. I am thinking of something with the 3.6v8 engine as I am terrified of going near the 2.7 again.

Besides all the Russian Frankenstein conversions on YouTube to Cummings/LS3/... there’s at least one very neat 3.6 l TDV8 conversion done to a D3 (search for TDV8 on this forum)

I can do a lot of work my self but unfortunately I do not have the facilities to do a body off job and with the price of a engine swap I might as well get another vehicle and have the disco for spares. Funny enough I do have the Jag XF with the 3.0 Engine which I think is shared with the disco 4?

Look on the bright side, I’m not comparing it with a Metrocab.
