I ordered a new timing belt and pulleys for my 2007 disco 3 2007. I ordered Dayco parts
When they have arrived they are Dayco but on the boxes new bearings in small print it says Made in China yet the actual belt is made in Italy.
Do you think that these parts are proper parts for the job. I ordered Dayco as being of quality

Ive just had genuine belts and oil pump fitted on mine. Dont think i'd like to risk a cheap chinease belt on such an expensive to replace engine.

I have always used dayco belts, but recently had a 200tdi one pretty much lunch itself in under a few thousand miles, and have read of others having the same issues on the older models, generally saying dayco are to be avoided, which is worrying as I fitted Dayco to my D3 6 yrs ago!

As long as its a genuine Dayco belt, I wouldn't worry. Buybfrom a reputable supplier, and not an ebay special
Buying from a reputable supplier is the key, I purchased a Barbour coat from Hobbs of London while they had a 40% sale on over the internet, 5 days later it had not come so I phoned them only to find out they had not got a sale on and neither did they have a active Webb site the coat did arrive but it was not a genuine Barbour. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I have read your posts with interest
I looked Dayco up and the do have sites all over.
China there is one
The belt is Dayco and is Italian. Hence checked this up and they have a plant there
All the parts are sealed and in proper Dayco boxes.
Will contact Advanced factors and have a chat
Wished I had used their complete timing belt kit but a lot of disco places do not like you supplying parts
And the 2007 model is not well liked for doing
I have had four garages who do land rovers pull out when I have asked them to do this model
Cheers and thanks for advice and opinions

If you bought the kit from Advanced factors it will be the proper kit.
And if a Garage font like doing the belts on a 2007 2.7 D3 they should try a D4 3.0 which has a lot less room to work and a pipe running behind the rear belt cover.
