Disco 3 transmission fault |
|
Hi guys,
Disco 3 2.7 GS 2007 Auto.
After trawling through many problems on here and not really finding anything I have a problem with mine with suspected transmission fault. Drive a couple of miles down the road and the four orange lights and F come up putting it into limp mode. Switching it off and on again whilst rolling just comes back with the transmission fault light and F, have plugged in modus and got the fault codes and after fiddling around with the abs sensor on front left wheel it’s now coming up with different codes. Any help would be grateful as just want to get rid of the dam thing and not have to spend a lot.
Regards Julian.
Codes
p0087 fuel rail system pressure to low
U2023 Engine torque information
U0401 invalid data received from engine control module/power train control module
U0100 lost communication with engine control module/power train control module “A”

With those faults is that not fuel filter related?

If you are lucky it's the fuel filter. Try that first. But if not, you are very probably looking at a failing high pressure fuel pump. I had the same fault codes and had to replace the HPFP. Those are expensive, but you can get a refurbished one for half price with one year warranty.

I did my pump a few months ago and it was around £300 for a geniuine pump and filter. Its worth getting new captive nuts that secure the tank in place if your replacing the pump mine fell apart and couldnt be reused.

I suppose it could be due to the fact that it doesn’t get used a lot, only got 89k on it.
