FBH fault

Hi guys, I’m currently looking at my fbh I have the BAS remote start it’s responding to the txt messages and third button but all I’m getting is it attempting to start three to four times but won’t actually run. I can hear it start up get a puff of smoke and then cools down and will do this three times in a row I have stripped it down and cleaned it but it’s still doing the same the only info I get back via the txt system is fault code 02 no start. Any suggestion as to what to do next please?

Welcome..

Fault code 2 is mostly partially obstructed inlet or outlet…
Snow, dust, spiderwebs, mud etc…. Also a underpressure situation due to wind flow can cause this..
And : An older glowplug is a more tired glowplug…
2005 - 2021 = 16 years old…. Since main engines need new sparkplugs/ glowplugs why this engine not? Wink so they do in time…
 Best regards
Harold

Ok thanks I’m guess it’s probably more the air flow giving that it throws out a large puff of smoke before going off again I wasn’t sure what the symptoms of a locked out fbh would be.

if it is not igniting due to too high resistance of the glowplug, it is the same symptom i am afraid.. just smoke so can be both.... although with FBH's no one like's to read that the glowplug is the problem.. Rolling Eyes but indeed try to get it running with good air flow first..

and with remote start. (engine NOT running).. close ALL the doors, bonnet included.. mine stops running if i have a door open... (although i use a Altox GSM controled remote)
 Best regards

One for Robbie....

Digging through this old thread, having just bought a TC4 from Germany (it's en-route, I hope) Does it have to be wired in under the bonnet, or is it plug & play in the socket in the boot? I see a couple have asked the same q, but can't see an answer!

In the boot gets my vote and it comes with the required wiring.

Do you know from what year they started fitting the connector? I've just got a 2010 D4 and I can't see the connector.
