That's not something I'd considered. I doubt that's something I will go for. I'm also nervous about a roof mounted light bar for the same reason. At least I can mount that to a roof rack though.
I didn't need a roof rack (which is the term I prefer to 'cant afford') so I bought the Prospeed lightbar which mounts through the top of the A-pillar capping strips. I didn't need the lights from Prospeed either, inexpensive ones from feabay work well enough for me. It still means holes in the trim and body for the rivnuts, but a replacement pair of capping strips would sort the holes out if you ever wanted to take it off.
A nice set of tree/rock sliders would double as a set of steps and look better too

I love that I'm only looking for a lightbar too I suppose. Given the price of a full ProSpeed roof rack, i don't think I need one either

Their lights are pretty steep too.... the mounting bar is £180, adding the lights makes it £975-£1450
This is mine with £50 worth of lights from you-know-where (yes I know they're not quite straight... its called "character" )

Does yours whistle from 30 - 50mph? Mine does and I'm trying to figure out how to reduce it... other than cranking up the stereo.

Yes, but there are so many of this style of body - also Lotus 7 (the original), Westfield, Robin Hood and many, many more of the same/similar body style, see below.

Ive done a few mods and don't regret any. Although mine is an old car so I think it improves it, im not sure I would do the same to something like a 14 or 15 plate D4.

I love the look of that, but I’m really nervous of anything that needs holes drilled into the pillar or roof.
Ideally, all of the exterior mods will be detachable or modular. If I’m going on a long journey that’s mostly on motorways and dual carriageways then I’m unlikely to get much use from the roof lights, and in that situation all they become is noisy and bad for fuel economy.

She looks great! I’d love to be able to go all out with my D3, but I have to remember it’s my family transport too. I wonder if I could buy another one for fun without the wife finding out
