Cambelt tensioner setting

Hi,
Just completing a cambelt change following discomikey's excellent guide and need a sanity check before I button up the cover - when setting the tensioner, is it a case of holding at set point with an allen key while torquing up the main bolt - seems to move as I tighten, after a few attempts I have it tight with the marker in the cutout, but I found it a bit hit and miss. 25nm doesn't give me much confidence it will stay put. Would appreciate any tips. Thumbs Up

25Nm is fine. Over tightening can cause massive problems on this.

I would hand crank the engine over a few times, the pointer will wander , but you should satisfy yourself its approximately correct.

Thanks, yes Ive done that and it looks okay, just my OCD kicking in!
The rest of job went well with a nice new oil pump on board. Hats off to this forum, I dont think I would have attempted otherwise.... Bow down
