Dog proofing the rear
Hi All,
As I've been away most of the year it seems SWAMBO has taken a shine to the Disco and taken it over.
As the two spaniels have been travelling with her, to and from her goat farm, I've had to dog proof the rear.
I already had a custom cover bootliner installed and to this I've since sourced a Travall Dog Guard and replaced the pieces of old conveyor belt with a geniune LR boot mat (both gotten through the forum, thanks to those who helped!)
I'm now a bit worried that the rear selt belts and rear plastic consoles might get chewed or scratched up by bored spaniels!!
Apart from taking the seatbelts out, has anyone done any mods for this that would help protect?

Thanks Iggy, I thought about that but Madame also picks up bags of feed etc. in the back of the Disco, as the seats still come down, so it was a bit of a non-starter.
She also transports some of the goats in the back, so I thought it would have been ideal!!
I've also got a upper shelf boot basket installed which limits things as well.2008 D3 HSE Stornoway Grey (UK)

Bags of food will fit in a full-size cage or buy a half size and put the feed the other side.DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Almost a year now and not even a tooth mark on it.
Lost a seatbelt last year prior to fitting

Just being nosey....
But what are the black tube bits on the mesh doors of your transk9 box Discoed?
I can make out the fan and the handles with locks, but can't fathum what the black tubes are.
Is the fan a transk9 one or aftermarket and is it any good?
Back to the original thread, I've got two of the B24ss and they fit side by side, no issues. You can then take out one (or both) as and when needed for feed etc. Or as already stated, I could get horse feed in the one crate or on the back seat, folded down.
Crates really are worth it.

Obviously not as strong as those pictured above, but these fold flat very easily and quickly and are well made.

:
I really need to remove them! They are a legacy of when the box was in the back of my Range Rover Classic - they stopped the dog box doors from hitting the paintwork
The doors would rest on the corners so I crafted rubber buffers!

Ah, I would never have worked that out.
I keep toying with getting a fan to aid circulation of heat/cold air, so will have a look.
Cheers

My dog chewed through the rear seat belts TWICE which prompted a protective response, so I put a slit down the side of 2 plastic water drain pipes and placed these over the seat belts. Job done plus the partly chewed third set of belts passed the MOT as they could not remove the pipes!

Had seatbelt chewed through and luggage cover too. Bought an Atlas 70 travel box for my pointer. Box just fits Disco3 by slamming tailgate!33370 Fargues Saint Hilaire

The fixed crates always worry me in the event of an accident and the dog being trapped.
I opted for a medium sized pets at home crate that fits in the Disco boot snug and secure, but also allows me to pull the dog/crate out by dropping the middle row seats, if for any reason the tailgate couldn’t open.Defender 110 2.4 TDCi Utility Station Wagon.

Our choc lab ate two sets of rear seats and 3 rear belts on the way back from a week in kennels - think it was his revenge - fortunately it was in a Fiat people carrier so it didn’t effect the resale value
When it was motd they couldn’t fail it as there were only the two front seats and they had beltsMust stop buying shiny toys....
