Safe to remove Bluetooth module? |
|
I'm modding the back of my D3 and have discovered the Nokia Bluetooth module drivers side rear. Is it safe to just remove this or (knowing Land Rover) will it upset the... I don't know... traction control in the front left wheel
I don't use the Bluetooth (parrot system being fitted). I have power drain somewhere and in my mind it's just one less thing to worry about.
Cheers

If you just unplug the module, the MOST bus is “broken”
And nothing regarding satnav and audio will work...
So, you can remove it, but you have to change the MOST bus, i a way, it is a Unbroken bus...
MOST is a Signal transfered by light and goes IN a device and then OUT again...each device on this bus, “amplifies” or transfers the signal further If you just remove a device or, unpower it, the signal/bus Is “broken”
is there TMC module? Then it is rather easy... regarding the work area...You can change the “in” and “out in a way the bus is unbroken.. By adapting one of the plugs
Or you buy a MOST “loop” adapter... (signal goes round again in—>out) and plug it on the MOST plug from your Bluetooth module Best regards

So just looking to loop the two fibre optic looking cables, the orange ones?
The rest of the cables are happy to be unplugged and removed?
I see the loops for sale for about 3 quid on the bay.
I am leaving the country on Wednesday for about 6 weeks mate. If you still need it when I get back, I will be buying a loop and happy to post it for a fiver.

Regarding the other plug on the device: yes...
IID owners will change their CCF file for “neatness” but it will work ok if you don’t.. (only throw up a error code In the body ECU) Best regards
