My friend has a 13 plate D4. One with the basic screen, no satnav. It has stopped working. He has a warranty with WarranyWise/Quentin Wilson. He claimed, through a dealer, and was refused without reason. Anyone heard of that one ? 1955 SWB Series 1 86 inch

Could the dealer have just said the warranty company won’t cover it? It does happen. Can you ring them direct to ask them to explain and see what they say. 012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)

Quite often warranties don't cover infotainment equipment including IIRC LR Warranty, not sure how it would work with those that are integrated for climate control etc etc etc. 2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

That’s a good point, at what point does the infotainment become an integration of every system. Could PDC be classed as a safety feature and not infotainment for example? And who makes the call. Fairly sure on my warranty direct policy that ICE is not included which is how they class the screen i would imagine.

Warranty Direct now do their cover by varying grades and add-ons. I have recently taken out a three year policy on our D4 and ticked every option which includes the infotainment - amplifiers, sat-nav, etc., etc. The extra cover was minimal in the grand scheme of things, but you don’t need much to go wrong on a D4 to make the cover worthwhile.
I’ve had cover with Warranty Direct in the past and found them to be excellent. Obviously I’d rather not have the trouble with the car, but...........

The problem is that that lovely friendly car salesman will try to sweeten the deal by giving a warranty. Great, but obviously a £500 priced warranty (to the dealer) won’t cover as much as a £1000 one. Just like any insurance policy, it should be read before purchase to ascertain its true value, but who does ? 1955 SWB Series 1 86 inch

How long has your friend had the car? Less than 6 months it’s up to the seller (if it’s a garage) to sort out warranty or not.
