Expedition / Camping D4
Hi All
I collected my 2010 Discovery 4HSE today and I am absolutely over the moon, firstly with the car itself and secondly the goodies waiting for me when I returned home.
Firstly the car is HSE with a few factory extras including locking diff, Tow package (missing the towbar however haha) and 360 deg cameras which seem a bit of a gimmick at the moment. It has had a "sports exhaust" with quad pipes fitted which I am planning to remove and replace with a standard rear box.
Plan is to modify it for light off roading, greenlanes etc and to do some trips away with my sons.
Any way here are a few pics.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone.
I spend a couple of hours today fitting the snorkel, rack and ladder and I am absolutely over the moon.
The build quality of the Prospeed rack and ladder is second to none, the rack took a less than 30 minutes to fit, the ladder needed a little more work but he instructions are flawless.
I am not so impressed with the Terafirma/Mantec snorkel,it certainly seems to be more for show than function as it does not seem to create a waterproof seal between the intake and snorkel. I have added some additional seal between the body panel and the snorkel itself but feel like i need to do something to improve the seal between the air intake and the body pannel as there is a clear gap water could get between if coming up the inside. I am not planning on any serious water crossings where is will be submerged for any prolonged period of time but if a job is worth doing and all that

It's not a Snorkel, it's a Raised Air Intake.
For a snorkel you would've been best off with a Safari snorkel.

Some have made the RAI watertight (and therefore a snorkel), but I believe it involves some considerable work.
But then you have to factor in - if the water is that high, then chances are it would've penetrated the electronics....... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Valid point Ronp!!!
As you say if I get water that high for any prolonged time then There will be more issues . I did find myself in some pretty deep water in my Suzuki Jimny a few years back. i remember being at a pay and play and standing on the roof waiting for a tow with my son in the car shouting “dad there is water coming though the gear stick” I don’t want a repeat of that in the D4

So some good news / bad news. The Disco went in to restricted power mode the other day, complete lack of power and wont rev above 2k rpm.
Spoke the garage I got it from and it went in today under the warranty, he txt in the day and said they should have it done tomorrow (may not be the case now following Boris's announcement).
Interestingly the garage said it was "the plastic air chamber" I'm guessing this means it was the inlet manifold, I thought this was quite a big job and not something they would get done in a day and half. I will speak to him further tomorrow but any ideas what else he could be referring to aside from that or maybe the air filter housing, which looked all ok the other day. I'm no professional mechanic but i think he thinks he talking to some numpty with no idea

@Waylander11 That's what I expected and said that but he said no, either he has no idea what he is talking about (seems like it could be that way) or is just trying to fob me off with minimal information. I'm collecting at 1:30 tomorrow so will see whats been done and how its performing.
I can then spend some of my quarantine on further mods
